The Spanish club Real Madrid defeated Al Jazira of the United Arab Emirates 2-1 in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final.

The defending champions Real Madrid will face 2017 Copa Libertadores de América champions Gremio in the final of Club World Cup, who beat Mexican football club Pachuca 1-0 in their last semi-final match.

Brazilian referee Sandro Ricci disallowed three goals, two for the Spanish club in the first half and one for the UAE side in the second half.

The 27-year-old, Romarinho opened the scoring for the hosts just four minutes before the end of the first half. Later, five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo equalized the scoreline for the Los Blancos in the 53rd minute.

With nine minutes to go in regulation, Gareth Bale scored the winner for Real Madrid just after he entered the pitch as a substitute for Karim Benzema.

However, Al Jazira and Pachuca will compete for the third place in a match hours before the final.
